KILN PERLITE EXPANDED

The Perlite is a mineral formed by sodium silicate and aluminum potassium of volcanic origin. It is formed when the quick cooling of the volcanic ashes, retains the water molecules inside the mineral.

When the perlite is heated quickly up to temperatures from 800 to 950º, it expands (expanded perlite) until 20 times its original size, forming expanded perlite with a extremely low density. It is essentially a mass of small glass bubbles, which give it the insulating properties for which it is known.

EXPANDED PERLITE INSTALLATION

  • Reception Hopper of the perlite mineral.

  • Screw conveyor installed in the bottom of the hopper, for discharging it.

  • Magnetic Drum destined to retain the iron particles that the perlite mineral carries.

  • Bucket elevator to lift the perlite to the Prefeeding Hopper.

  • Prefeeding Hopper destined to storage the perlite that feeds the kiln, by using a belt conveyor.

  • Kiln to produce the expanded perlite, formed by 1 tube where the expansion is done and an outer shield.

  • Natural gas burner to provide the neccesary thermal energy to expand the perlite with its corresponding fan, to provide the combustión primary air.

  • Thermal Power: 1.000.000 to 2.000.000 kcal/h.

  • Cyclone to collect part of the expanded perlite from the kiln, with a valve rotative for discharging and the pipe from the kiln to the inlet.

  • Reception Hopper of expanded perlite made of stainless steel.

  • A bag filter to capture the particles not retained by the cyclone, with a valve rotative for discharging, and a fan that circulates the gases in all the whole circuit.

Indirect Kiln

INDIRECT KILN

Indirect fire by batches rotary kiln MONTERDE Brand for production of Plaster / Plaster of Paris.

It Works/Performance:

The calcining of the plaster, is done in a discontinuous rotary kiln, indirect fire type, with the required capacity. It is a rotary kiln where the gases of combustion are not in contact with the product. It is designed to produce Plaster for construction.

The heat generated in the combustion, is transferred to the product indirectly.

In this kiln for calcining Plaster, the gypsum is introduced by batches inside the tube of the kiln, which rotates inside of a “Combustion Chamber”. The burners flame heats the tube that contains the product, so the fire is not in contact with in the product.

The kiln has a heat recovery system, with a powerful fan that circulates the heat recovered through out the product, to take advantage of the calories as much as possible.

The calcining temperatures in this kiln, can reach up to 250ºC.

The technology of this type of MONTERDE kilns, allows to obtain a Plaster of the best quality, at the lowest cost.

Although our kilns are designed for calcining calcium sulfate dihydrated “gypsum”, to obtain Plaster; it is also possible to calcine other minerals, which can be calcined up to 250ºC, if they have the proper granulometry.

KILN FOR CALCINATION TEMPERATURES STILL 800ºC

Direct fire continuous rotary kiln (patented) for production of Plaster / Plaster of Paris or Anhydrite II, but not at the same time.

Performance/It Works:

The calcining of the gypsum, is done inside the rotary kiln, HR3 or HR5 according to the required capacity. It is a continuous, and counter current, rotary kiln, and the gases are in contact with the product. It is designed to produce 100% of plaster / plaster of Paris, or 100% of Anhydrite II because of the high temperatures for calcining the product, up to 800ºC.

For the heat generated in the combustion is received for the product for its dehydration, we have a powerful fan that facilites the circulation of heat air through the kiln in the reverse direction to the material: countercurrent.

In this type of kiln, specially designed to produce plaster/plaster of Paris or Anhydrite II, the inlet chute introduces the gypsum inside the chamber formed by the intermediate tube and the inner tube, called the “Preheating Chamber”, where the temperature raises softly. Then, after remaining in that chamber some time, the product is introduced inside the inner tube, called the “ Calcining Chamber”, where is carried out the calcining of the product at the setting temperature. Finally, after remaining the product some minutes in that chamber it is introduced inside another chamber, formed by the outter tube and the intermediate tube, called the “Cooling chamber”, where the material is cooled. As part of the termal energy of the product in the “cooling chamber” is transferred to the product inside the “Preheating chamber” the efficiency is so high. Because of this very special process, the range of temperature of the product at the outlet is from 90ºC to 300ºC.

The temperatures of calcination in this kiln, can reach to 800ºC.

The patented technology of MONTERDE kilns does that can be obtained a Plaster and Anhydrite, of the best quality at the lowest possible cost.

CALCINATION UP TO 800º

The energetic profit thanks to our technology, is so big in our kilns that for high calcination temperatures, the output temperature of the gases filter are between 90 and 110 grades, enough so that condensations do not happen.

Although our kilns are designed for the dehydration and calcination of calcium sulfate “raw plaster”, to obtain Plaster and Anhydrite II; Also it is possible to dehydrate or calcine any other mineral or product, that allows a temperature range from 0 to 800º, and a granulometry of suitable entry for the desired production.
